Maryel Saturday School is a Spanish learning program designed for children ages 3 to 12 years old. Our mission is to give our students the opportunity to gradually acquire the Spanish language in speaking, reading and writing.
In order to accomplish our mission, this program is available for children of varying Spanish levels and is provided by native professionals and certified bilingual educators.
To provide each child with the maximum support and individual attention, there is a maximum of 10 students per class. Students will be assigned according to age and their pretest results that will determine their appropriate Spanish level.
Initial level – Beginners
This level is designed for kids that have little to or no exposure to the language. Children learn Spanish through games, storytelling, songs, and activities related to their everyday life and experiences. Students are exposed to the language from day one in a program of linguistic and cultural immersion.
In the intermediate level, children can express themselves with enough vocabulary, but still feel insecure when talking in depth about certain topics such as family, work, personal interests, travels and news. After completing this level, students will be able to develop skills to debate these topics in a fluid way and even express their point of views about an idea or problem. Reading and writing will be introduced to kids 5-12 years old.
Advanced Level (6-12 year olds)
Upon completion of this level, students will be able to express themselves clearly in both writing and spoken levels, without restrictions. They will have developed mastery in the language to formulate and express thoughts accurately, emphasize points of view, develop ideas in a systematic way and eliminate ambiguity.
